RUSSIA AND CANADA LOOK FOR SUPERSERIES-2010

Russian and Canadian ice hockey teams are looking forward to repeating the famous superseries of 1972 at the Winter Olympic games, which start today in Vancouver.

"It is the second important tournament for Canadian hockey after the superseries against Soviet Union team in 1972", said popular Canadian journalist of The Hockey News Alan Adams.

His colleague Bill Beacon from Canadian Press, who worked at the Winter Olympic Games in Calgary-88, puts much significance into hockey competition too. "I agree that Vancouver is the second important tournament in our history", said Beacon.

"First of all because it will take place at our country. And moreover hockey cannot be compared with any other kind of sport at the Olympics".

"But anyway I don’t think that something could be comparable to our superseries of 1972. it was a mixture of social, political and sport events and it was impossible to describe the nerve-strain in words".

"This time we will see just hockey, though without any doubts it will be fantastic hockey, but not hockey, which we enjoyed in 1972".
